Campaign -- 

I'm about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first. 

We just made history. 

And I don't want you to forget how we did it. 

You made history every single day during this campaign -- every day you knocked on doors, made a donation, or talked to your family, friends, and neighbors about why you believe it's time for change. 

I want to thank all of you who gave your time, talent, and passion to this campaign. 

We have a lot of work to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next. 

But I want to be very clear about one thing... 

All of this happened because of you.

We have GOT to keep this momentum going!  We cannot let the ball drop!  The work we have left to do is FAR FROM OVER!  Barack Obama is not change all by himself.  The change is the change within ourselves as we recognize that we have entered a new paradigm of modern human history.  

People seem to be saying that 'racism is over'.  But this is far from the truth.  None of the 'isms' are over, they are just less prevalent and virulent than they were in the past.  We cannot forget all the people who did not vote, or who voted for McCain because they did not want to vote for a Black person.  We cannot forget that racism is subtle and insidious, and the only way to truly combat it is by working together as a community, truly caring about each other, and educating everyone!!!!
